Electra Battery Materials appoints Peter Rawlins as CFO
The Canadian battery materials producer names a new chief financial officer as it scales operations in the critical minerals sector.

Electra Battery Materials Corp. on Friday said it has appointed Peter Rawlins as its chief financial officer, effective immediately.
Rawlins joins the Canadian battery materials producer as it expands its footprint in the critical minerals supply chain. The company, which focuses on the production of battery-grade materials, said the appointment supports its growth strategy amid rising demand for electric vehicle components.
Electra did not disclose additional details regarding Rawlins' compensation or prior roles. The company’s shares were not actively traded in extended hours following the announcement.
Rawlins brings financial leadership experience to the role, according to the company’s statement. Electra’s operations include the processing of nickel, cobalt and lithium, key inputs for battery manufacturing.
The appointment follows Electra’s recent operational updates, including progress on its cobalt and nickel sulfate facilities in Ontario. The company has emphasized its role in securing domestic supply chains for North American battery production.
Electra Battery Materials is listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the ticker ELEC.
