BIO-key International Inc. announced it has raised $2.5 million through a warrant exercise agreement, providing an immediate cash infusion to support operations and strategic initiatives.
The biometric identity verification and security solutions provider said existing warrant holders exercised their rights to purchase common stock at a fixed price, converting those warrants into equity. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed beyond the total amount raised.
The transaction follows a period of heightened demand for biometric security solutions amid increasing cybersecurity threats and regulatory scrutiny over data privacy. BIO-key, which serves sectors including healthcare, government and enterprise, has emphasized its focus on scalable identity verification platforms.
