Alma Media Q2 revenue up 5% on digital growth
Finnish media group posts modest revenue increase as digital business offsets print decline. Profit guidance maintained.

Finnish media company Alma Media reported a 5% year-over-year increase in second-quarter revenue to €62.3 million, driven by growth in its digital business despite continued weakness in print operations.
Digital revenue rose 11% to €38.7 million, offsetting a 6% decline in print revenue to €24.6 million. The company attributed the digital growth to increased online subscriptions and advertising, particularly in its news and data services segments.
Alma Media maintained its full-year profit guidance, citing stable cost management and ongoing digital transformation efforts. Operating profit for the quarter was €8.1 million, down from €8.5 million in the same period last year, reflecting higher investment in digital initiatives.
Chief Executive Officer Kai Telanne said the results demonstrated the company's progress in shifting its business model toward digital platforms. "The growth in digital revenue confirms our strategy to focus on high-margin, scalable digital services," Telanne said in a statement.
The company's shares were up 2.1% in early trading on the Helsinki Stock Exchange, outperforming the broader market amid broader media sector volatility.
Alma Media operates a portfolio of Finnish-language news, data and marketing services, including the Helsingin Sanomat newspaper and Iltalehti digital platform.
