Yum! Brands Inc. announced the appointment of Stephen B. Bratspies to its board of directors, effective Aug. 26. Bratspies most recently served as CEO and board member of HanesBrands Inc., where he led the company through operational and strategic initiatives in the apparel sector.
Prior to HanesBrands, Bratspies held senior executive roles at Walmart Inc., including chief merchandising officer and executive vice president of food and general merchandise. His earlier career includes leadership positions at PepsiCo Inc. and Specialty Brands, as well as service on the boards of Target Corp. and The Clorox Company.
The appointment adds executive expertise in retail and consumer goods to Yum! Brands' board. Bratspies holds a bachelor's degree from Franklin & Marshall College and an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Yum! Brands, headquartered in Louisville, Ky., operates more than 58,000 restaurants across 155 countries and territories under brands including KFC, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, and Habit Burger & Grill.
