YPF posts earnings beat, revenue exceeds forecasts

YPF Sociedad Anónima on Wednesday reported adjusted earnings that exceeded forecasts by $0.97 per share, while revenue outpaced analyst estimates.

The Buenos Aires-based oil and gas company posted adjusted earnings of $1.23 per American depositary share (ADS) for the quarter, compared with a consensus estimate of $0.26 per ADS, according to Refinitiv data. Revenue totaled $4.5 billion, above the $4.1 billion forecast by analysts.

YPF’s results reflect stronger crude oil and natural gas prices, which boosted upstream operations. The company also cited improved refining margins as a key driver of revenue growth. Cost controls and operational efficiencies contributed to the earnings beat, executives said in a statement.

Analysts had expected YPF to benefit from Argentina’s energy export revenues, which have been supported by higher global oil prices and increased shipments to neighboring countries. The company’s production volumes remained stable, with natural gas output meeting domestic demand and crude oil output aligning with refining capacity.

YPF Sociedad Anónima is Argentina’s largest energy company and a major player in Latin America’s oil and gas sector. Its shares are listed on the Buenos Aires Stock Exchange and as ADRs in the U.S.

The earnings report follows a period of volatility in Argentina’s financial markets, driven by inflation and policy uncertainty. YPF’s results underscore resilience in its core operations despite macroeconomic headwinds.
