Xpeng Inc. announced plans to launch its G9L sport utility vehicle in China and roll it out across 64 global markets, beginning with a world premiere at the Paris Motor Show on October 12.
The vehicle, measuring 5,120 mm in length with a 3,100 mm wheelbase, will be offered in both battery electric (BEV) and range-extended electric (REEV) powertrain configurations. It is built on Xpeng’s VLA 2.0 platform and incorporates the company’s Turing AI chip, the same processor used in its IRON humanoid robot.
Safety development included 192 crash tests covering more than 110 individual test items across four protocols — Euro NCAP, ANCAP, C-NCAP and CIASI. Over three years, Xpeng conducted road testing spanning 26 countries and regions, logging 6.74 million kilometers.
Production will take place at facilities in Guangzhou, China, and Graz, Austria. The Austrian plant, operated by Magna, marks the fourth Xpeng model manufactured there after the G6, G9 and P7+. Xpeng’s partnership with Magna began in September 2025.
He Xiaopeng, chairman and chief executive, said the company had "built an in-house AI foundation based on our work in AI cars and humanoid robots" and announced that it had commissioned the world’s first automated production line for advanced general-purpose humanoid robots. The Paris Motor Show appearance will be staged at Hall 6.
Xpeng shares trade on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker XPEV and on the Hong Kong exchange as 9868.
