Waystar has launched four AI-powered tools under its AltitudeAI platform, designed to automate and streamline healthcare payment and administrative workflows. The tools were unveiled at the company’s Fall Innovation Showcase, which drew over 600 attendees during its annual client conference.
The suite includes an autonomous claim resubmission system that interprets payer responses and automatically resubmits eligible rejected and denied claims. Waystar estimates that approximately 70% of initially denied claims are ultimately paid after providers invest additional time in rework, a process the new system seeks to eliminate.
Additional features include conversational analytics, which enables users to query data using natural language, and a clinical documentation tool that analyzes up to 30,000 data points in medical records to recommend specialist reviews. Early adopters reported up to a 75% reduction in time spent on data analysis, while the clinical tool is expected to reduce review time by roughly 25%. A patient financial engagement tool rounds out the offerings, targeting the more than $556 billion in annual out-of-pocket healthcare spending by patients.
Waystar processes over 7.5 billion healthcare payment transactions annually, representing more than $2.4 trillion in gross claims, and serves over 30,000 clients spanning more than 1 million providers. The company, listed on the NASDAQ under the ticker WAY, is headquartered in Lehi, Utah, and Louisville, Kentucky.
Chief Executive Officer Matt Hawkins said the tools leverage AI, payer intelligence, and connected workflows to identify priority tasks and deploy specialized agents for resolution.
