Vox Royalty Corp. has acquired a 2.0% net smelter return royalty on the White Dam gold mine in South Australia’s Curnamona Province for A$5 million in cash. The transaction is expected to close within five business days after fulfillment or waiver of applicable conditions precedent.
The royalty, which carries no buyback rights or gradual reduction clauses, covers an unlimited production volume from the mine. White Dam previously produced approximately 180,000 ounces of gold between 2010 and 2018 under prior operators.
Broken Hill Gold Ltd., the current operator, recommissioned the heap leach operation in April, targeting annual production of 15,000 to 20,000 ounces of gold. The mine’s concessions span roughly 400 square kilometers and include both gold and copper mineralization. Recent drilling results at the White Dam North area, announced on July 23, indicated sulfide mineralization including a 20-meter interval at 2.5 grams per tonne of gold and 0.5% copper, with a higher-grade zone of 3 meters at 12.5 grams per tonne of gold and 1.8% copper starting at 68 meters depth.
Vox Royalty’s portfolio comprises over 70 royalties and streams, including 10 producing assets and 28 in development. The White Dam royalty adds to the company’s exposure in the region, where Broken Hill Gold reported a JORC-compliant mineral resource estimate in August 2020. Indicated resources total 1.2 million tonnes at 0.7 g/t gold, equivalent to approximately 28,600 ounces, while inferred resources stand at 3.4 million tonnes at 0.7 g/t gold, or roughly 73,500 ounces.
