Virtu Financial Inc. shares reached a record $68.08 on Friday, capping a sharp rally that has pushed the stock 61.26% higher over the past 12 months and 85.6% year-to-date through 2026.
The trading technology and market-making firm reported adjusted earnings of $1.82 per share for the second quarter, topping the $1.60 estimate. Revenue totaled $949 million, well above the $615.96 million forecast, as Virtu benefited from elevated market volatility and increased trading volumes.
Shares traded within 1% of their 52-week high of $68.02, reflecting strong investor confidence following the earnings release. Five analysts have raised their earnings outlooks for the company in recent weeks, according to market data.
Virtu is also exploring strategic options for its brokerage unit, with Bloomberg reporting potential sale proceeds of more than $3.5 billion. The move could further unlock value for shareholders, analysts said.
