Ukrainian drones struck a logistics warehouse belonging to Ozon, Russia’s second-largest online retailer, in the Samara region overnight, disrupting operations and injuring several people.
The attack targeted an Ozon facility in Chapayevsk, according to Samara Governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev, who confirmed the strikes via a Telegram post. The governor did not disclose the number of casualties or the extent of damage to the warehouse, nor did he identify the industrial site also struck in the region.
Russia’s Defence Ministry reported that its air defences intercepted and destroyed 457 Ukrainian drones nationwide during the overnight attack. The ministry did not provide a regional breakdown or specify how many drones were aimed at Samara.
Ozon stated that operations at its Chapayevsk logistics centre were suspended following the incident, though the company did not provide further details on when normal operations would resume. The company confirmed injuries among its staff but did not disclose the number or condition of those affected.
The attack follows weeks of strikes on warehouses belonging to Wildberries, Russia’s largest online retailer, though this marks the first reported Ukrainian strike on an Ozon facility. Ozon’s shares were trading 3.02% lower at 2,889.00 rubles at the time of the report.
