The UK Debt Management Office (DMO) announced plans to auction £4 billion of 4.125% Treasury gilts maturing on March 7, 2033. The offering, designated as the 4⅛% Treasury Gilt 2033 with ISIN GB00BVP99780, will be conducted through the Bloomberg Bond Auction System on Tuesday, August 25, 2026.
Bidding will open at 9:00 AM London time and close at 10:00 AM, with issuance and settlement scheduled for the following day. The auction will allow for competitive and non-competitive bids, though participation is restricted to Gilt-edged Market Makers submitting through the Bloomberg system. The DMO will also offer a post-auction option facility permitting an additional allocation of up to 25% of the nominal amount sold, exercisable between 12:30 PM and 1:00 PM on the auction day.
The gilt will pay interest semiannually on March 7 and September 7 each year, with the next payment due on September 7, 2026. Interest will be paid gross, though holders may opt for UK income tax deductions. The auction will not be open to members of the Approved Group of Investors. Following settlement, the total nominal amount outstanding for this gilt issue will reach £29.69 billion, fungible with prior issuances.
