President Donald Trump purchased SpaceX shares valued between $15,001 and $50,000 on June 23, according to a financial disclosure filed on August 12 and released on August 24.
The disclosure, which covers more than 1,000 stock trades made by the president in June, follows SpaceX’s record-breaking initial public offering on June 12. The transaction was managed by third-party financial institutions, with the portfolio independently replicated to track recognized indexes such as the Schwab 1000, a White House spokesman said.
White House spokesman Davis Ingle stated that neither President Trump nor any member of his family has any ability to direct, influence, or provide input regarding portfolio investments or trading decisions. The portfolio is managed by external institutions, he added.
SpaceX, a leading U.S. commercial space launch provider and military contractor, has faced heightened regulatory scrutiny in recent months. On August 21, Trump directed his team to accelerate the expansion of U.S. commercial space launches, signaling renewed focus on the sector’s growth.
