Talanx shares rise on strong Q2 results, outlook
German insurer Talanx posted better-than-expected second-quarter earnings and raised its full-year guidance, lifting shares to a 3.2% intraday gain.

Shares of Talanx AG surged on Tuesday after the German insurance group reported second-quarter results that exceeded analyst expectations and lifted its full-year guidance.
The company posted a net profit of €342 million for the quarter, up from €289 million a year earlier, driven by higher investment income and improved underwriting performance. Analysts had forecast a profit of €305 million, according to a Reuters poll. Revenue rose 4.7% to €10.2 billion.
Talanx also raised its 2024 earnings guidance, now expecting a net profit of €1.3 billion to €1.4 billion, compared with a prior range of €1.1 billion to €1.3 billion. The company cited stronger-than-anticipated demand in its property and casualty insurance segment and cost efficiencies.
The upgraded outlook follows a period of volatility in European insurance stocks, where valuations have been pressured by rising claims costs and economic uncertainty. Talanx’s shares have gained 8% this year, outpacing the broader Euro Stoxx Insurance index, which is up 3%.
Analysts at Berenberg maintained a buy rating on the stock, citing the company’s resilient underwriting margins and exposure to growth markets. The stock closed 3.2% higher at €52.80 in Frankfurt trading.
The rally underscores investor confidence in Talanx’s ability to navigate a challenging operating environment while delivering consistent returns.
