Synopsys Inc. is set to report fiscal third-quarter results on Wednesday after the market close, with investors scrutinizing the integration of its $35 billion acquisition of Ansys and the performance of its AI-driven chip-design tools.
Analysts project earnings per share of $3.67, an 8.3% increase from the same period last year, following a sequential rise from $3.35 in the prior quarter. Revenue is forecast at $2.44 billion, up 40% year-over-year and ahead of the $2.28 billion recorded in the previous three months. The Ansys deal, completed in July 2025, contributed approximately 29% of second-quarter revenue, underscoring its material impact on Synopsys’s financials.
The company’s Synopsys.ai product suite, featuring agentic EDA tools, is gaining traction with 20 customers evaluating the technology during the last quarter. Operating margins are expected to remain near 40%, reflecting sustained efficiency despite integration costs. Synopsys’s stock, trading at $408.79, has declined from a 52-week high of $615.79 but retains a consensus price target of $560.17, implying a 37% upside.
Eighteen of 24 analysts covering the stock maintain a buy rating, signaling continued confidence in Synopsys’s strategic direction. The company is also navigating shifts in its intellectual-property segment, redirecting resources toward high-performance computing and addressing trade disruptions in China to restore growth.
