Switzerland Updates Sanctions List Targeting Hamas and Islamic Jihad Supporters
The Swiss Federal Department of Economic Affairs has updated the ordinance annex concerning measures against supporters of Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad.

The Swiss Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research (WBF) has formally updated the annex to the ordinance regarding measures directed against individuals and organizations supporting Hamas or the Palestinian Islamic Jihad.
The revised sanctions list, associated with regulatory framework SR 946.231.09, entered into force following the amendment. The initial ordinance was enacted on April 10, 2024, to implement targeted restrictive measures within Swiss jurisdiction against entities and persons linked to the designated groups.
Financial intermediaries and relevant institutions operating within Switzerland are required to review client portfolios and transaction flows against the updated annex to ensure compliance with federal asset-freezing and prohibition mandates.
