The Swiss National Bank (SNB) announced on Monday that Ulrich Bindseil will succeed Martin Brown as director of the Gerzensee study center, effective January 1, 2027. Brown, who has led the center since late 2022, will transition to a position within the SNB.
The Gerzensee study center, operated by the SNB Foundation, serves as a key institution for economic research and training within Switzerland’s financial sector. Its programs focus on central banking, monetary policy, and broader economic analysis, supporting both domestic and international participants.
Bindseil’s appointment follows a five-year tenure by Brown, who will now take on a new role at the SNB. The SNB did not disclose further details regarding Brown’s future responsibilities or Bindseil’s prior position within the central bank.
The transition reflects the SNB’s ongoing efforts to maintain and develop its research and educational infrastructure, which plays a role in shaping Switzerland’s monetary policy discourse and expertise.
