Sound Energy non-executive director to leave board in February
Independent director’s departure follows recent corporate governance changes at the UK-listed energy explorer.

Sound Energy PLC said on Friday its non-executive director will step down from the board in February, the latest in a series of governance adjustments at the London-listed oil and gas explorer.
The company did not specify a replacement or the reason for the departure, but said the director’s resignation would take effect on Feb. 28. Sound Energy added that the board remains fully functional and continues to oversee ongoing operations and strategic initiatives.
Sound Energy, which focuses on exploration and production in Morocco and the UK North Sea, has recently adjusted its leadership structure. In December, the company announced the appointment of a new chair and changes to its audit committee following investor feedback on governance practices.
The company’s shares, listed on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange, were down 2.1% at midday in London trading on Friday, though the move was in line with broader sector weakness amid lower crude prices.
