Slovakia’s annual inflation rate fell to 3.2% in July from 3.5% the previous month, according to harmonised EU data published on Wednesday by the country’s statistics office.
Consumer prices increased by 0.1% month-on-month in July, reversing June’s 0.2% decline. Analysts had forecast a 0.1% monthly drop and an annual rise of 3.0%, underscoring the surprise in the data.
The July reading marks a deceleration from the 4.6% year-on-year increase recorded in July 2025, when prices rose 0.4% on the month. The latest figures suggest inflationary pressures in Slovakia are easing, though remaining above the European Central Bank’s target range.
The data, released by Slovakia’s Statistical Office on Aug. 19, follows a broader trend of moderating inflation across Central Europe, though policymakers will monitor domestic price dynamics closely amid ongoing economic uncertainty.
