SIG has appointed Ann-Kristin Erkens as its new chief executive officer with immediate effect, the German industrial group announced on Thursday.
Erkens succeeds Mikko Keto, who had taken over the top role at SIG in March 2026. Keto’s tenure lasted just five months before the company initiated a leadership change.
The Neuhausen am Rheinfall-based firm did not provide additional details regarding the reasons behind the decision or the strategic direction under Erkens’ leadership. The company operates in industrial and specialty chemicals, with a focus on sustainable solutions and high-performance materials.
SIG’s board of directors approved the appointment, which marks a shift in executive leadership amid ongoing market challenges in the industrial sector. The company has not disclosed a timeline for further announcements regarding its strategic priorities or operational adjustments under the new CEO.
