Shoulder Innovations Inc. announced a collaboration with ALM Ortho Inc. to bring customized orthopedic implants to the U.S. market for severe shoulder deformities and complex revision surgeries.
Under the agreement, Shoulder Innovations holds exclusive rights to ALM Ortho's upper-extremity solutions within the United States. The company, which trades on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker SI, will leverage its existing surgeon relationships and sales organization to identify eligible cases and connect surgeons and facilities with the ALM Ortho offering. ALM Ortho will handle design, manufacturing, and delivery of the devices directly to surgeons.
ALM Ortho's implants are individually fabricated on a case-by-case basis using patient imaging data to match individual anatomy. The company develops orthopedic implants spanning spine, total joints, oncology, cranio-maxillofacial applications, and extremities, producing them through additive manufacturing of titanium.
Rob Ball, CEO of Shoulder Innovations, said the collaboration expands the firm's product array in the shoulder surgical care market and addresses an unmet need among patients and surgeons managing complex cases.
Shoulder Innovations is described as a commercial-stage medical-technology company focused on the shoulder arthroplasty implant market. Financial terms of the arrangement were not disclosed.
The partnership was reported on Sept. 9, 2026. The companies are based in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
