Swedish industrial group Sandvik AB said its shares rose 3.2% on Monday after securing a SEK 275 million ($29 million) order to supply underground mining equipment to Kamoa Copper S.A. for the Kamoa-Kakula copper mine in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The order, which will be booked in the third quarter of 2026, includes trucks and loaders, with two loaders equipped with Sandvik’s AutoMine automation technology. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026 and continue through the third quarter of 2027.
Sandvik has supplied intelligent machines to the Kamoa-Kakula complex since 2019, supporting operations at the long-life, high-grade underground mine. Patrick Murphy, President of Sandvik’s Mining business area, said the contract reflects continued confidence in the company’s technology and solutions.
"Sandvik’s intelligent machines have been operating at Kamoa-Kakula since 2019, and I am pleased to see that we once again have been selected to supply our leading solutions, supporting more productive, efficient and safer mining operations," Murphy said in a statement.
