Crypto wallet provider SafePal said on Saturday that a data breach exposed the order information of nearly 40,000 customers, while affirming that private keys, seed phrases and digital assets remained unaffected.
The Singapore-based company, which operates a hardware and software wallet ecosystem for cryptocurrencies, disclosed the incident in a brief statement on its official X account. SafePal did not provide further details on the nature or timing of the breach, nor did it specify whether the exposed data included names, email addresses or other personally identifiable information.
The company emphasized that customer funds remained secure, stating that private keys and seed phrases—critical components for accessing and managing crypto holdings—were not compromised. SafePal also noted that its hardware wallets and associated assets were unaffected by the incident.
Crypto wallet security incidents have become increasingly common as digital asset adoption grows. Breaches often target customer data rather than funds directly, as exchanges and wallet providers typically implement robust measures to protect private keys and stored assets. SafePal has not indicated whether it will notify affected customers individually or provide additional guidance on mitigating potential risks, such as phishing attempts.
