Russia has extended its 20% export duty on soybeans through the end of August 2028, according to Interfax. The measure, originally set to expire at the end of this month, aims to stabilize domestic supply and curb price volatility amid shifting global agricultural markets.
The government in Moscow also indicated it is considering a 10% duty on linseed exports, though no final decision has been reached. The extension applies to shipments leaving Russian ports, reinforcing policy efforts to prioritize domestic consumption and food security.
The decision follows recent volatility in global soybean markets, where export restrictions and geopolitical factors have contributed to price fluctuations. Russia’s move aligns with broader trade policies designed to balance export revenues with domestic needs.
