Luxury-goods conglomerate Richemont appointed Anton Rupert as non-executive co-vice president of its board of directors with immediate effect, the company said Wednesday.
Rupert, who has sat on the board since 2017, will take oversight of the strategic product and communications committee for Richemont's "Maisons" — its portfolio of luxury brands. He will share the co-vice-president role with Bram Schot.
Under the new arrangement, Schot will retain responsibility for governance matters across the board and its committees. According to Richemont, the division of duties between the two co-vice presidents supports long-term succession planning and ensures that strategic priorities and governance issues are overseen separately at the non-executive level.
Anton Rupert is the son of Johann Rupert, who serves as Richemont's president. The appointment signals an expanded role for Anton Rupert within the group's leadership structure.
Richemont is headquartered in Geneva.
