RenovoRx Inc. said the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office issued a Notice of Allowance for a patent covering methods and apparatuses for delivering therapeutic materials in cancer treatment.
The patent centers on RenovoRx’s Trans-Arterial Micro-Perfusion platform and its RenovoCath device, a dual-occlusion catheter designed to isolate blood flow and deliver cancer therapies directly to tumor sites. The device features expandable occlusion balloons to create a controlled treatment zone and a secondary catheter capable of navigating branching vessels.
RenovoCath has received FDA clearance for temporary vessel occlusion and selective fluid delivery in peripheral vascular procedures, including chemotherapeutic drug infusion. The company reported $1.1 million in RenovoCath sales for 2025 and $1.5 million for the six months ended June 30, 2026.
The device is being evaluated in the TIGeR-PaC Phase III clinical trial, which is testing intra-arterial gemcitabine delivered via RenovoCath for pancreatic cancer. The drug-device combination holds FDA Orphan Drug Designation for pancreatic and bile duct cancers, granting seven years of market exclusivity upon approval.
RenovoRx’s intellectual property portfolio now includes 20 issued or allowed patents and 13 pending applications related to the platform and device. The company expects to complete patient enrollment in the TIGeR-PaC trial in the near term, with final data readout anticipated between mid and late 2027.
