Rakovina Therapeutics Inc. (TSX-V:RKV, FSE:7JO0) appointed Prof. Petra Hamerlik to its board at an annual general meeting held August 18, 2026 in Toronto, Ontario.
Hamerlik currently serves as chair of translational neuro-oncology at the University of Manchester. Prior to that, she was principal scientist and central nervous system cancer bioscience lead at AstraZeneca plc, where she worked on brain-penetrant DNA repair inhibitors for primary brain tumors and brain metastases. She also led the Brain Tumour Biology laboratory at the Danish Cancer Research Centre and served as associate professor at the University of Copenhagen.
Her research background includes work on the combination of PARP and HDAC inhibition in cancer treatment, DNA-damage response, and neuro-oncology.
Hamerlik had previously joined Rakovina's Scientific Advisory Board on November 20, 2023.
Kim Oishi, Rakovina's chief executive officer, said in a statement that "Prof. Hamerlik brings scientific leadership in the DNA-damage response and neuro-oncology to the Company's board."
