Pictet Asset Management has appointed Alfred Le Léon as Head of ETF Distribution for the EMEA region, a newly created role following the launch of its first ETFs in Europe. The appointment underscores the asset manager’s push to strengthen its European distribution network.
Le Léon, who previously spent nearly eight years at J.P. Morgan in Paris, will report to Malick Badjie, Global Co-Head of Sales at Pictet AM. His responsibilities will include overseeing ETF distribution across France, Belgium, the Netherlands and French-speaking Switzerland, areas where he previously led J.P. Morgan’s ETF sales team.
With over 15 years of experience in ETF distribution, Le Léon began his career in 2010 as an ETF specialist at HSBC and Deutsche Bank. He holds a Master’s degree in Economics and International Finance from the University of Bordeaux.
Pictet AM introduced its first European ETFs in early July, including the AI Enhanced Equity Index Active ETF suite. The four funds are listed on exchanges including Xetra, Borsa Italiana, Euronext and the London Stock Exchange. The move expands the asset manager’s quant-focused product range in a market where competition among ETF providers has intensified.
Malick Badjie welcomed Le Léon’s appointment, stating: “We are pleased to welcome Alfred Le Léon at this pivotal stage of our ETF business in Europe. His 15 years of ETF distribution experience and proven track record in building a pan-European ETF franchise make him an ideal fit for this role.”
