Zug-based asset manager Partners Group has secured a $1 billion private credit mandate from an Asian institutional investor, marking another milestone in the firm’s expansion in alternative credit solutions.
The mandate, one of the largest in the region for private credit, reflects growing demand among Asian institutions for customized private markets strategies. Partners Group, which manages over $170 billion in assets, will deploy the capital across its private credit platform, targeting mid-market corporate borrowers in Asia-Pacific.
The deal follows a series of high-profile mandates for the firm, including recent commitments from European and North American investors seeking exposure to private credit amid volatile public markets. Private credit has gained traction as institutions seek higher yields and diversification outside traditional fixed-income assets.
Partners Group’s private credit business has grown steadily, with assets under management in the strategy reaching $25 billion as of the latest reporting. The firm’s ability to structure bespoke solutions for large institutional clients has been a key driver of its fundraising momentum.
The mandate comes as Asian institutions increasingly allocate capital to alternative investments to enhance portfolio resilience and target higher risk-adjusted returns. Private credit, in particular, has emerged as a favored asset class due to its illiquidity premium and potential for stable cash flows.
Partners Group did not disclose additional details about the mandate’s structure or the specific sectors targeted for deployment.
