Opera highlighted a sustained revenue expansion at Citi's 2026 Global TMT Conference. The browser maker posted $738 million in revenue, up from $107 million in the first year of its current leadership, reflecting more than 20% annual growth over the past decade. Management set a $1 billion revenue milestone as the next target, describing it as "not so far out."
E‑commerce has become a primary growth engine. Opera’s e‑commerce run rate climbed from $40 million to $240 million within 2.5 years, lifting its share of advertising revenue from roughly 20% to over 50%. The company estimates the broader e‑commerce market exceeds $100 billion, underscoring the scale of the opportunity.
User reach also expanded. Opera Ads now reaches 700 million users globally, adding 200 million in the first half of the current period. iOS users, previously around 1% of the smartphone base, now represent about 10% after regulatory shifts. Monthly active users grew 40% in the United States and 66% in London during the latest quarter. In a European market where Opera holds a 5% browser share, it delivered 10% of a major e‑commerce partner’s traffic.
The company’s product lineup includes the flagship Opera One browser, the gamer‑focused Opera GX, and the AI‑centric Opera Neon, which operates on a subscription model and records the highest user engagement. Partnerships remain central to the strategy; Opera has worked with Google for 25‑26 years and collaborates with platforms such as Apple’s App Store, OpenAI’s Atlas browser, and others.
Financial metrics show a dividend yield of 4.41%, a price‑to‑earnings ratio of 12.9, and a PEG ratio of 0.24. Gross profit margins stand at 50% and revenue growth exceeds 23% according to the latest figures. Marketing costs in Western markets are 20‑30 times higher per reach than in emerging markets.
Executive Frode Jacobsen emphasized the need to differentiate Opera as an independent browser to attract installations, noting that the company’s growth hinges on strong partnerships and the ability to drive traffic for e‑commerce partners.
