NexGen Energy Ltd. said on Monday it has expanded the vertical extent of the high-grade uranium subdomain at its Patterson Corridor East project in northern Saskatchewan by 94 meters, a 17% increase to 644 meters, following recent drilling results.
The company reported a uranium mineralization intersection at 930 meters depth in drill hole RK-26-293, while RK-26-290c1 intercepted multiple overlapping uranium veins across 40 meters of the high-grade subdomain. This included 19.5 cumulative meters above 10,000 counts per second, with 12.9 meters containing a 5.2-meter section exceeding 61,000 counts per second. NexGen described RK-26-290c1 as its best hole to date at Patterson Corridor East based on the >61,000 counts-per-second readings.
A separate hole, RK-26-294, intercepted 6.9 cumulative meters above 10,000 counts per second, including 3.1 meters exceeding 61,000 counts per second, located 27 meters along-strike from a previously disclosed hole, RK-24-222. NexGen noted that RK-26-290c1 and RK-26-294 represent the two best holes drilled in 2026 to date.
Additional drilling, including hole RK-26-296, expanded the high-grade subdomain up-dip by 50 meters along strike, while the overall strike length remained at 210 meters. The company said recent drilling focused on confirming down-dip interpretations, with mineralization remaining open in most directions. A fifth drill rig was added to support ongoing exploration.
As of the announcement, NexGen had completed 20,138.7 meters of a planned 42,000-meter drilling program for 2026. The company used an RS-125 natural gamma ray spectrometer from Radiation Solutions Inc. to gather radiation measurements, noting that total gamma count readings may not directly correlate to uranium grades.
