NeuroThera patents psychedelic-PEA combinations for mental health, pain, substance use

NeuroThera Labs Inc., a clinical-stage pharmaceutical company affiliated with Tel Aviv-based SciSparc Ltd., has filed three U.S. patent applications covering combinations of psychedelic compounds with palmitoylethanolamide (PEA) technology. The new filings expand on earlier work by the company, which previously collaborated with Clearmind Medicine Inc. to patent MDMA combined with N-acylethanolamines for PTSD, anxiety, and eating disorders. The latest patents now include LSD, ketamine, and ibogaine as potential therapeutic agents alongside PEA or related compounds, with indications spanning mental health disorders—such as depression and post-traumatic stress disorder—pain management, and substance use disorders. The patents reflect an ongoing effort to explore novel psychedelic-PEA formulations for treating a range of central nervous system conditions. While the filings represent intellectual property rather than approved treatments, they underscore NeuroThera’s broader drug development pipeline, including programs like SCI-110 for Tourette syndrome and Alzheimer’s disease, and SCI-210 for autism spectrum disorder and status epilepticus.
