Montoddler, a New Jersey-based Montessori bed brand, has announced the Wave collection — a range of floor beds and raised-bed options targeting U.S. families.
The Wave collection encompasses seven designs spanning from a transitional first bed following crib use through full and queen sizes for older children. The beds are available in crib, twin, full, and queen mattress sizes and are constructed from birch plywood finished with water-based coatings.
Guardrails on each panel feature a row of arched openings cut into the wood, forming a continuous wave pattern along the top edge with rounded corners. Two base configurations are offered: floor bed models position the mattress approximately 2.5 inches above the ground, while legged variants raise the sleeping surface to roughly 4 inches to allow air circulation and easier cleaning underneath. One side of each frame remains open to permit unassisted child entry and exit.
Founder Saim Demirci said the brand's design philosophy centers on children's ability to participate more fully in daily routines than adults often permit. "We try to look at the bedroom from their height and their perspective," he said. "A bed is something a child interacts with every single day, so even a small design decision can change how independently they experience that part of their routine."
Demirci noted that parents commonly ask whether their child is ready to transition to the next bed. "We start from a different question," he said. "Is the room ready for the child?"
