MMG Ltd’s shares rose 2.8% in Hong Kong on Monday after the company resumed operations at its Las Bambas copper mine and processing plant in Peru.
The mine, one of the world’s largest copper producers, had been suspended for two days following an incident on August 18 that killed two workers and injured three others. Operations were halted on August 19 and restarted on August 21.
The resumption of activity at Las Bambas, a major revenue driver for MMG, supported the company’s Hong Kong-traded shares, which closed at HK$9.59, up from HK$9.33 the previous session.
