MiNK Therapeutics Inc. said on Monday its shares rose after the company reported interim data from a Phase 2 trial of agenT-797, an allogeneic, off-the-shelf natural killer (NK) cell therapy.
The biotech firm disclosed that the trial met its primary endpoint, demonstrating a statistically significant improvement in a key efficacy measure. While specific metrics were not disclosed, the company characterized the results as positive and supportive of advancing the therapy into later-stage development.
MiNK Therapeutics is developing agenT-797 for the treatment of solid tumors and hematologic malignancies. The trial is evaluating the therapy in combination with standard-of-care treatments in patients with advanced cancers. The company plans to present detailed data at an upcoming medical conference.
The interim results follow earlier preclinical and Phase 1 data that showed promising safety and preliminary efficacy signals. Analysts noted that agenT-797’s off-the-shelf design could offer advantages over autologous cell therapies, which require patient-specific manufacturing.
Shares of MiNK Therapeutics were up 15% in premarket trading on Monday, reflecting investor optimism following the announcement.
