MicroVision said it has received initial and repeat purchase orders for thousands of its IRIS long-range lidar sensors from multiple customers in North America and Europe. The orders, targeting industrial, security and defense applications, mark a shift from development and validation phases toward broader deployment and production programs.
The company said customers are transitioning to the next-generation HALO lidar platform, with migrations expected to begin between late 2027 and 2028. MicroVision noted that its IRIS sensor and HALO platform are designed to allow customers to preserve investments made in integrating and validating IRIS while scaling deployments.
MicroVision has immediately available inventory to fulfill the orders, which span off-road autonomy in security and defense, space systems, industrial operations, material handling and logistics, robotics and intelligent systems operating in complex environments. The company maintains engineering centers in the United States and Germany.
Chief Executive Officer Glen DeVos said the orders reflect commercial progress from evaluation and validation to deployment and greater scale. He added that customer demand for IRIS generates near-term revenue while establishing a foundation for HALO hardware deployments and a pathway to recurring revenue through the company's perception solution.
