Japanese corporate Bitcoin treasury firm Metaplanet transferred 10,270 BTC, valued at approximately $806.3 million, to Coinbase Prime over the past week.
The transfers included 4,800 BTC worth nearly $377 million on the latest transaction date, following prior moves of 2,000 BTC ($155.5 million), 3,331 BTC ($266 million), and 139 BTC ($11.1 million). If confirmed as sales, the latest transfers would reduce Metaplanet’s Bitcoin holdings by over 29%, based on its reported 35,102 BTC portfolio valued at $2.75 billion.
The company ranks as the fourth-largest corporate Bitcoin holder globally. The transfers follow a broader industry trend where smaller corporate Bitcoin treasuries have recently liquidated portions of their holdings. In contrast, French Bitcoin treasury company Capital B raised €21 million ($24.5 million) through a private share placement to acquire 270 BTC, signaling divergent strategies within the sector.
