Kiai Parsa, director of Medifast and managing member of Steamboat Capital Partners, purchased 43,150 shares of the company on August 26 for a total of $529,157, according to regulatory filings.
The average price paid was $12.2632 per share, with the transaction occurring within a price range of $12.12 to $12.38. At the time of reporting, Medifast shares were trading at $12.29, representing a 1.76% gain over the prior week and a 15.48% increase over the past six months.
Following the purchase, Steamboat Capital Partners Master Fund, LP holds 707,492 shares, while Steamboat Capital Partners II, LP holds 20,270 shares. Parsa stated he disclaims beneficial ownership of these shares except to the extent of his pecuniary interest.
Medifast reported a second-quarter 2026 loss of $0.28 per share, exceeding analyst expectations of a $0.43 loss, alongside revenue of $76.4 million, which surpassed the $74.7 million forecast. The company also recently introduced a new brand, Trilivy.
