KPI Green Energy’s Q1 FY27 capacity jumps 71% as profits decline
Renewable energy firm KPI Green Energy reported a 71% rise in operational capacity for Q1 FY27, though profits fell amid rising costs and pricing pressures.

KPI Green Energy Ltd. said its operational capacity surged 71% year-over-year in the first quarter of fiscal 2027, driven by expanded wind and solar projects. The Mumbai-based renewable energy developer reported total capacity at 1,240 megawatts as of June 30, up from 725 MW a year earlier.
Profitability, however, declined. Net profit fell 12% to 280 million rupees ($3.3 million) from 318 million rupees in the same period last year, reflecting higher operating expenses and competitive pricing in power purchase agreements. Revenue grew 34% to 1.1 billion rupees, supported by increased generation and new capacity additions.
The company attributed the capacity growth to the commissioning of 515 MW of new wind projects and 10 MW of solar capacity during the quarter. KPI Green Energy operates wind and hybrid energy projects across five Indian states, with a pipeline targeting 2 GW of total capacity by fiscal 2029.
Shares of KPI Green Energy were little changed in early trading, reflecting balanced investor reaction to the mixed quarterly performance.
