Kimball Electronics Inc. said on Thursday it expects fourth-quarter 2026 profit to fall short of analyst estimates, citing ongoing supply chain disruptions and softer demand across key end markets.
The company, which provides electronics manufacturing services to industrial and automotive sectors, provided a preliminary outlook that fell below consensus estimates compiled by Refinitiv. Kimball did not provide specific earnings per share figures in its statement.
Kimball Electronics has faced persistent supply chain constraints, including component shortages and logistics delays, which have weighed on production schedules and margins. The company’s customer base, spanning automotive and industrial applications, has also shown signs of demand softening, further pressuring revenue and profitability.
Chief Executive Officer Jeffrey O. Simmons stated that while operational improvements are underway, the external environment remains challenging. Simmons highlighted efforts to mitigate supply chain risks through diversified sourcing and strategic inventory management, though he did not quantify the expected impact on the quarter’s performance.
Analysts have noted that Kimball’s exposure to cyclical end markets, particularly automotive, increases its sensitivity to broader economic conditions. The company’s guidance reflects broader industry headwinds, including elevated material costs and reduced order visibility.
Kimball Electronics plans to release its full fourth-quarter and full-year 2026 results on July 24, alongside a conference call with investors to discuss the financial performance and outlook.
