JPMorgan Chase & Co. has hired David Fishman from Bank of America Corp. to lead its technology mergers and acquisitions business in North America, as the Wall Street giant continues expanding its advisory capabilities in the sector.
Fishman will take the role of vice chair and head of technology M&A for North America, reporting to Chris Grose and Greg Mendelson, the co-heads of technology investment banking at JPMorgan, as well as Charlie Bouckaert, the bank’s global head of M&A. He will also serve on a newly formed technology M&A leadership and advisory council designed to serve the firm’s top clients.
Based in New York, Fishman is a former M&A lawyer with more than 15 years of experience at Bank of America. His most recent position there was co-head of technology, media, and telecom M&A, where he advised on deals across the sector. Prior to that, he served as chief strategy officer for the bank’s investment bank.
The appointment follows JPMorgan’s broader push to strengthen its technology advisory franchise. Earlier this week, Bank of America named Richard Hardegree, who previously worked at UBS Group AG, as a managing director and vice chair of technology M&A, with Hardegree set to begin his role this month.
JPMorgan also elevated Vineet Seth to a vice chair position in investment banking, while assigning him a senior role on the new technology M&A leadership and advisory council. The moves underscore the bank’s focus on scaling its technology-focused dealmaking capabilities amid heightened corporate activity in the sector.
