Trading in the ordinary shares of JPMorgan Global Core Real Assets Limited (ticker: JARA) was suspended on the London Stock Exchange at 7:30 a.m. local time Wednesday, ahead of a shareholder vote on a proposed voluntary liquidation.
The suspension follows a July 31 announcement that the Guernsey-incorporated fund, managed by JPMorgan Funds Limited, would seek shareholder approval for liquidation at an extraordinary general meeting scheduled for the same day. The fund’s shares had previously traded under normal two-day rolling settlement terms, but the exchange confirmed that Wednesday marked the final day for such transactions.
Shareholders were required to lodge transfer requests before 6:30 p.m. Tuesday to meet the record date of 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, which determines eligibility for liquidation distributions. Transfers submitted after the deadline were returned, and any share transfers during the liquidation process require authorization from the appointed liquidators under Guernsey law and the company’s articles of association.
If the liquidation proposal is approved, original shareholders will receive distribution proceeds from the liquidators. The fund’s broker, Investec Bank plc, and settlement system, CREST, have aligned operational procedures with the suspension, disabling share transfers at the start of Wednesday’s trading session.
