Trading in the ordinary shares of JPMorgan Global Core Real Assets Limited (JARA) was suspended on the London Stock Exchange on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. local time, pending a vote on the company’s proposal to wind up operations voluntarily.
The suspension follows an announcement on July 31 by JPMorgan Funds Limited, the fund manager, outlining plans to liquidate the Guernsey-domiciled investment company. Shareholders are scheduled to convene an extraordinary general meeting to vote on the proposal, with the cutoff for shareholder eligibility set for Tuesday at 10:30 p.m. local time.
The London-listed shares were last quoted at 80.80 GBP, up 0.20 GBP or 0.25% prior to the suspension. Normal two-business-day settlement for share trades concluded at the time of the announcement, and the CREST system will disable ordinary shares at the start of business on Wednesday.
Following the standard settlement cutoff, any trades executed will require spot settlement, provided documentation and transfers are submitted to the company’s registrar by Tuesday’s close of business. Transfers received after the deadline will be returned to the presenter, and any transfers during the liquidation process must receive explicit authorization from the liquidators in accordance with the company’s articles of incorporation and Guernsey law.
Investec Bank plc serves as the broker for the company. The liquidation proposal will be voted on during the extraordinary general meeting scheduled for Wednesday at 11:30 a.m., with the record date for entitlement to liquidation distributions determined by the Tuesday cutoff.
