Jersey Mike’s Subs (JMKE) shares advanced 1.1% in pre-market trading Monday, lifting the stock to $24.13 as eight prominent brokerages initiated coverage with bullish outlooks.
The fast-casual sandwich chain, which went public on the NYSE in late July, has drawn renewed analyst interest with price targets ranging from $26 to $31. Mizuho set the highest target at $31, implying roughly 30% upside from the current price, while Piper Sandler, Jefferies, UBS, RBC Capital, Stifel, and JPMorgan assigned targets between $26 and $29. Bernstein maintained the most conservative stance with a $26 target and a neutral rating.
Analysts highlighted Jersey Mike’s asset-light franchise model, where 99% of stores are franchisee-owned, as a key driver of its long-term growth potential. Mizuho projected the chain could exceed its same-store sales, unit growth, and EBITDA guidance through 2027, forecasting annual EBITDA growth of at least 15%—substantially outpacing mid-single-digit growth seen among peers in the restaurant sector.
The stock’s pre-market rally follows its late-July NYSE debut, with shares trading near a 52-week high of $24.99. The broader market context included modest pressure on U.S. equity futures ahead of this week’s Federal Reserve Jackson Hole Symposium and Nvidia’s earnings report, alongside geopolitical concerns over potential U.S. sanctions against Iran. At the time of the article, the S&P 500 was down 0.1%, the Nasdaq fell 0.5%, and the Dow slipped less than 0.1%.
