Jack in the Box Inc. named Taylor Montgomery president, effective Sept. 14, 2026, as part of a planned succession strategy. Montgomery, currently with Taco Bell, will lead brand strategy and focus on sales growth and franchisee profitability at the fast-food operator.
The appointment follows the company’s announcement of a leadership transition plan. Executive Chairman and Interim CEO Mark King will continue in his role during the transition and remain chairman afterward. Montgomery is expected to assume the CEO position within the next 12 months and join the board at that time.
Montgomery brings extensive experience from Yum! Brands, where he oversaw more than $18 billion in systemwide sales across over 9,000 Taco Bell restaurants. Last year, Taco Bell reported 7% sales growth, 3% restaurant growth, and 8% profit growth under his leadership. Prior to Yum!, he spent more than five years at Procter & Gamble in brand strategy roles.
Jack in the Box operates approximately 2,115 restaurants across 25 U.S. states, Mexico, and Guam. The company is listed on the NASDAQ under the ticker JACK.
