Israel’s equity market ended higher on Tuesday, with the TA 35 index gaining 0.04% as gains in retail and real estate shares offset declines in technology and semiconductor equities.
The TA 35, which tracks the 35 largest companies on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange, closed at 2,105.4 points following a session in which advancing stocks trailed decliners by a margin of 219 to 233, with 107 issues unchanged.
Shufersal led the advances, rising 4.58% to 4,250 shekels after reporting stronger-than-expected same-store sales. Shapir Engineering Industry and Big Shopping Centers also contributed, gaining 3.66% and 2.91% respectively. In contrast, Tower Semiconductor fell 8.71%, Camtek declined 5.63%, and Nova dropped 5.46%, pressuring the tech-heavy segment.
Commodities showed mixed performance, with Brent crude for October delivery up 0.50% to $91.32 per barrel and U.S. crude for the same contract rising 0.80% to $84.41. December gold futures, however, fell 0.86% to $4,435.40 per troy ounce.
The U.S. dollar strengthened 0.84% against the Israeli shekel to 2.99, while the euro gained 0.89% to 3.47. The U.S. Dollar Index futures were down 0.06% at 99.48.
