Israel’s TA 35 index advanced 1.17% at Thursday’s close, as gains in communication, real estate and technology shares offset broad weakness in consumer and energy names.
Advancing issues outnumbered decliners by 308 to 166 on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange, with 85 stocks unchanged. The TA 35’s advance followed a mixed regional equity session, with regional benchmarks tracking modest global equity momentum.
Tower Semiconductor led the index’s gainers, rising 5.39% to 67,290 points. OPC Energy added 4.88% to 9,840 points, while NICE climbed 4.87% to 31,410 points. On the downside, Shufersal fell 7.33% to 3,994 points, marking the index’s sharpest single-day decline. Ormat Technologies dropped 2.22% to 30,870 points, and Strauss Group slipped 1.83% to 11,290 points.
Commodities showed little directional movement. October crude oil futures were nearly flat at $82.22 per barrel, while November Brent crude rose 0.21% to $87.12. December gold futures fell 0.17% to $4,645.21 per troy ounce. The U.S. dollar weakened 0.33% against the Israeli shekel to 2.96, while the euro fell 0.31% to 3.45. The U.S. Dollar Index was little changed at 99.09.
