Israel’s benchmark TA 35 Index closed 0.51% lower on Friday, as losses in the biomedical, banking and oil and gas sectors weighed on the market. Advancing stocks outnumbered decliners by 312 to 139, with 107 issues unchanged.
The index’s retreat followed declines in global commodity markets. Crude oil futures for October delivery fell 0.74% to $82.91 per barrel, while Brent crude for November delivery slipped 0.56% to $88.02 per barrel. December gold futures dropped 0.90% to $4,622.16 per troy ounce.
The U.S. dollar strengthened 0.49% against the Israeli shekel to 2.98, while the euro rose 0.19% to 3.46. The U.S. Dollar Index futures fell 0.29% to 99.38.
Among the TA 35’s top performers, Next Vision Stabilized Systems gained 3.53% to close at 20,810 points, Menora Mivtach Hldg rose 1.79% to 51,880 points, and Big Shopping Centers advanced 1.09% to 68,880 points. On the downside, Super Sol 01 fell 4.38% to 3,819 points, Camtek declined 3.99% to 42,090 points, and Azrieli Group dropped 2.59% to 39,130 points.
