Israel’s equity market ended lower on Friday, with the TA 35 index declining 0.51% as declines in energy, banking and biotechnology shares outweighed gains in retail and technology.
The benchmark fell to 2,081.20 points by the close in Tel Aviv, as rising stocks totaled 312 against 139 decliners, with 107 issues unchanged. Losses were led by Shufersal, which dropped 4.38% to 3,819 points, while Camtek and Azrieli Group fell 3.99% and 2.59%, respectively.
Advancers included Next Vision Stabilized Systems, up 3.53% to 20,810 points, Menora Miv Holdings, which gained 1.79% to 51,880 points, and Big Shopping Centers, which rose 1.09% to 68,880 points.
Commodities traded lower during the session, with October crude oil futures down 0.78% to $82.88 per barrel and Brent crude for November delivery falling 0.59% to $88.00. December gold futures declined 0.88% to $4,623.14 per troy ounce.
The Israeli shekel strengthened 0.53% against the U.S. dollar to 2.98, while the euro rose 0.19% to 3.46. The U.S. Dollar Index futures were up 0.31% at 99.40.
