Iran’s security chief Mohsen Rezaei told Al Manar TV on Thursday that reports of an Iranian plot to assassinate Barron Trump, the youngest son of U.S. President Donald Trump, were false.
The U.S. Secret Service had said on Tuesday it was aware of a video broadcast by the Iranian state television that discussed a potential plot against the teenager.
In the same interview Rezaei said mediators had asked Iran to present its conditions for reopening the Strait of Hormuz. Tehran is drafting a list that, according to Rezaei, includes ending regional hostilities and establishing a corridor with Oman. Under the proposed arrangement, ships would use a designated central channel that runs partly in Omani waters and partly in Iranian waters, provided the United States meets Iran’s stated terms.
