IntraGel Therapeutics secured $7 million in equity financing from UroGen Pharma to develop TumoCure, an investigational cisplatin-based therapy for advanced head and neck cancer. The investment follows the presentation of Phase 1b clinical data at the 2026 American Society of Clinical Oncology Annual Meeting, which indicated the therapy was generally safe, well tolerated, and showed low systemic cisplatin exposure with early signs of anti-tumor activity in heavily pretreated patients, including those resistant to prior cisplatin treatment.
Under the agreement, UroGen receives an exclusive option for worldwide development and commercialization rights to TumoCure after the completion of Phase 2 trials. The deal also includes options for UroGen to license up to three additional oncology products developed using IntraGel’s SRGel platform, a biodegradable sustained-release formulation technology designed for localized drug delivery. The platform employs a water-free, solvent-free fatty-acid-based polymer matrix compatible with small molecules, peptides, and biologics.
TumoCure is being developed for patients with locally advanced, inoperable head and neck cancers who are ineligible for systemic cisplatin-based chemoradiation. IntraGel is pursuing FDA approval via the 505(b)(2) pathway. Additionally, the SRGel platform is being leveraged for IG-003, a therapeutic candidate utilizing GLP-1 analogues for weight management. The company is headquartered in Nazareth, Israel.
